Obituary of William Asa Tanksley
Bedford William Asa (Bill) Tanksley, 65, of 39 Autumn Lane, Bedford, went home to be with the Lord at 8:15 pm on Sunday, March 23, 2008 at the Bloomington Hospital, surrounded by his family.Born January 30, 1943 in New Albany, IN, he was the son of Kenneth and Madaline (Neal) Tanksley. He married Jacque Myers on January 27, 1967 and she survives. He was an iron worker and retired from General Motors. He attended the Donica Church of God and was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local #440 and the Iron Workers Local #22. He loved racing, car shows, golf and camping.Survivors include his wife, Jacque of Bedford; three daughters, Janine Gould and her husband, Loren, Janelle Eads and her husband, Philip all of Bedford and Jennifer Speer and her husband, Jason of Mitchell; seven grandchildren, Jacey and Kali Gould, Jamon and Dason Eads, Novalee, Josiah and Levi Speer; two sisters, Priscilla Stevens of Bedford and Sue Inman of Martinsville; one brother, Frank Tanksley of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jim Tanksley; one grandson, Loren Gould and one nephew, Jimmy Tanksley. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 27th at the Hillcrest Christian Church with Pastor Kendall Hendrickson officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 26th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
