Obituary of Robert P Synder

On February 14, 2003 at 2:40 am, Robert P. Snyder passed away at the Bliss House in Bedford. He was with his family and surrounded by love. Bob was a retired educator. He taught in the NLCS for thirty-five years. He began the football program at Bedford High School after WW II and continued to coach until 1965. He was also a guidance counselor, teacher and vice-principal. Bob was a perpetual deacon at St. Johns Episcopal Church, a member of the Elks Lodge, N.R.A. and owner of the White River Gun Club. He was a retired Colonel in the Army Reserve and served in Europe during WWII. Bob had many titles; coach, educator and counselor but his most important were; father and friend. He was honest and open with his advise and love. He was much loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include two sons, Robert J. Snyder of Louisville, KY and Mark C. Snyder and his wife, Diane of Indianapolis; three daughters, Lisa H. Teufel and her husband, Tom of Cape Coral, FL, Laurie A. Snyder of Bloomington, IN and Lee Ellen Snyder of Bedford; six grandchildren; Hope Droz and her husband, James of Columbus, OH, Mark Perry and his wife, Deanne, of Bedford, Dirk Perry and his wife, Melissa, Dain Perry and his wife, Jen, all of Cape Coral, FL, Justin Snyder and Donovan Todd both of Bedford; six great grandchildren, Deidre, Mark, Tanner and Trista Perry, Mathew Droz and soon to be, Elisabeth Hope. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Hope and one brother, Lesley Snyder. Funeral Information Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, February 17th at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Bedford with Father Charles Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, February 15th and from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, February 16th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
