Obituary of Quincy E. Swango

Bedford Quincy E. Swango, 76, of 79 Sunny Acres Lane, Bedford, died on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at his residence. Born January 27, 1931 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Russell and F. Anna (Evans) Swango. He married Mary Louise Lambrecht on June 16, 1951 and she preceded him in death on February 27, 1989. He retired from Brunner Engineering in Bedford as a welder and was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the New Union Christian Church. Survivors include three sons, Dwight Swango and his wife, Teresa and David Swango and his wife, Susie all of Bedford and Dale Swango and his wife, Ramona of Mitchell; six grandchildren, Brandon Swango, Heather Vinson, Ashley Swango, Josh Swango, Amanda Swango and Sarah Swango; two great grandchildren, Noah and Felicity Vinson; two sisters, Mildred Stone and her husband, Carl and Doris Hampton all of Bedford; his companion, Sherry Edgar of Bedford and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, Olin Swango. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 31st from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. John Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 30th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
