Obituary of Betty J. Swango

Bedford-Betty J. Swango, 79, of 2212 Bartlettsville Road, Bedford, passed away at 8:26 P.M. Friday, February 17th at the Dunn Memorial Hospital. She had been ill for sometime. She was born January 5, 1927 in Lawrence County, IN to Mike Stipp and Nellie (Tanksley) Stipp. She retired in 1989 from Jay C Store and was a member of the Heltonville United Methodist Church and Indiana Farm Bureau. Surviving are two daughters: Loretta Bailey and her husband, David of Heltonville; Mary Barnett and her husband, Benny of Bedford; two sons: Mike Swango and his wife, Belinda of Bedford and Jeff Swango and his girlfriend, Joy of Bedford; eight grandchildren: David Bailey Jr., Donald Bailey, Tammy Eager, Bobby Barnett, Mark Barnett, Michael Fleetwood, Kortni Sowders and Samantha Swango; six great grandchildren Georgia Bailey, Ashley Eager, Lisa Eager, Mary Anna Barnett, Elizabeth Barnett and Kaleb Sowders; three nephews: Bill Gillum, Mike Gillum and Larry Younger. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son: Mark Swango and two sisters: Helen Gillum and Mary Younger. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 21st at the Heltonville United Methodist Church with Rev. George Greathouse and Rev. Richard Chase officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Run Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, February 20th from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Day & Carter Mortuary and on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the service hour.
