Obituary of Glen Bex

Bedford Glen Bex, 80, of 260 Art Gallery Road, died at 5:10 pm on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at Mitchell Manor. Born October 14, 1923 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Logan and Mannie (Terrell) Bex. He was retired from the Crane Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WW II. He was a former Superintendent for the Lawrence County Highway Dept. and a member of the Cecil C. Martin Post 250 American Legion of Mitchell. Survivors include his long-time friend, Mary Guthrie; one daughter, Shirley Kay Mosier and her husband, Brad; one son, Glen Eugene (Tuffy) Bex and his wife, Priscilla; grandchildren, James Earl Mosier and his wife, Jamie, Gerald Mosier and his fiancee, Missy, David Mosier and Paula Kay Mosier, Jeff Bex and his wife, Stacy, Scott Bex and his wife, Nikki and Matt Bex and his wife, Julie; ten great granchildren; four brothers, Raymond, Logan, Robert and Russell Bex; three sisters, Ruth Hutsell, Lucille Williams and Sarah Bright. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Dennis and two sisters, Grace Doane and Ida Trueblood. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 24th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Morturay with Bro. Carl Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Port Williams Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 23rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside.
