Obituary of Ralph Garland Stultz

Bedford Ralph Garland Stultz, 77, of 43 State Road #458, Bedford, died at 4:00 pm on Friday, September 1, 2006 at his residence. Born July 24, 1929 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Raymond and Eula (Jackson) Stultz. He married Patty L. Wagoner on August 19, 1950 and she survives. He was a graduate of the Shawswick High School with the class of 1947. He served an apprenticeship in drafting at Indiana Limestone Co. Ralph served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 until 1955. He then worked as a certified engineering technician at NWSC CRANE until his retirement in 1988. Ralph was one of the founders of Hillcrest Christian Church in 1966. For the first six months, church members met in Ralph and Pattys home. They then moved to the parsonage in 1967 and held services there until 1970 when they moved into the current church which Ralph designed. He was an active member at Hillcrest Christian for forty years and served as an Elder from 1966 until 1988. Survivors include his wife, Patty, of Bedford; one son, Lyman G. Stultz and his wife, Lisa of Bedford; two daughters, Roxana Oliver and her husband, Sunny of Bedford and Charity Avera and her husband, David of Missouri City, TX; grandchildren, Luke and Lauren Stultz, Ashley and Allison Oliver, Connor, Dalton and Brock Avera; two sisters, Reva Stipp and her husband, Raymond and Janice McPike and her husband, Jerry all of Bedford; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Jean Stultz of Columbus; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth Stultz. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 6th at the Hillcrest Christian Church in Bedford with Rev. Gary Cornwell and Ralphs nephew, Dan Stipp officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Silverville. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 5th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and on Wednesday, September 6th from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. View Video Tribute
