Obituary of Sena Rebecca Ann Strunk

Bedford Sena Rebecca Ann Strunk, 92, a resident of Westview Manor, formerly of Spencer Pike in Springville, died at 2:58 pm on Thursday, November 18, 2004. A loving mother, compassionate, generous and caring friend, she lived her life sharing her faith, blessing others with her delicious food and gifts of love. She displayed all the attributes of the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31. Many of her neighbors will remember the times there was sickness or death in their families. Sena was always there with food and and prayers. She loved doing for others. She received Christ as her personal savior early in her life and became a true servant, always willing to share, eager to help, faithful to church and called upon many times to pray in the middle of the night by people who knew her. She had great faith and trust in Almighty God. Born June 15, 1912 in Wayne County, KY, she was the daughter of Robert F. and Armilda (Keith) Owens. She attended school at Patton Hill and Oolitic. She married Luther Strunk on June 22, 1929 and he died October 6, 1976. She was a homemaker and a member of the Crossroads Community Church. She was a Sunday School teacher and had played the old pump organ at Patton Hill Church. Sena loved music and passed that love on to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing and camping with her beloved husband, Luther. She loved to sew and made many quilts and dresses. She was especially proud of her garden and many flowers. Don Flynn, who delivered her mail, would see her standing by the mailbox, patiently waiting with a doughnut and coffee in hand to reward him. The gas man, the insurance man and many others were invited to her table for dessert and coffee. No one was a stranger.
