Obituary of L. Dean Stroud
Bedford, Lavere Dean Stroud, 71, of 302 R Street in Bedford, died on Saturday, October 11th, at his residence. Born on February 11, 1932 in Bedford, he was the son of Walter and Inez (Louden) Stroud. He married Shirley Helmbrecht on November 10, 1956 and she survives.
He retired from Hooks Pharmacy in Bedford as a stock supervisor. He was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church and the American Legion Gillen Post #33. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army.
Surviving with his wife of Bedford are his parents of Shoals; two sons: Scott Stroud and his wife, Laura of Bedford; David Stroud of Raleigh, N.C.; one daughter: Sherri Stroud of Mitchell; two grandchildren: Ryan and Jami Stroud both of Bedford; three brothers: Russell Stroud of Shoals, Rex Stroud of Williams and William Stroud of Greenwood. He was preceded in death by one sister: Doris Zumhingst. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14th, from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Paul Neuman officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Williams, IN. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
