Obituary of Mildred Stone

Bedford Mildred Stone, 81, of Bedford, died at 5:58 am on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Westview Nursing and Rehab. Center in Bedford. Born April 15, 1929, she was the daughter of Russell and Anna (Evans) Swango. She married Ralph Edward Fenander on August 15, 1952 and he preceded her in death on February 27, 1973. She later married Carl W. Stone on April 15, 1984 and he preceded her in death on November 13, 2008. She retired in 1992 from Bank One as a new account representative. She was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church and a long time member of the New Union Christian Church. Mildreds greatest pleasures were being a wife, her home and being with family on special holidays. Survivors include a sister, Doris Hampton of Bedford; a sister-in-law, Gail Swango; a step-son, Jeff Stone; a step-grandson, Matthew Stone; a step-granddaughter, Courtney Stone; several nieces and nephews, Suzanne Hampton, Denise Swango, Dwight (Teresa) Swango, Dale (Mona) Swango, David (Susie) Swango and Daren (Melanie) Swango. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two brothers, Quincy and Olin Swango. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 22nd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the New Union Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, January 21st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
