Obituary of Catherine Howell

Bedford Catherine Howell, 85, of Bedford, died at 6:10 pm on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Westview Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford. Born May 10, 1922 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of George and Anna (Pace) Eisele. She married Homer E. Howell on November 15, 1940 and he died November 23, 1968. She was a homemaker and a former member of the Hoosier Hills Doll Club. She graduated from the Tunnelton High School with the class of 1940 and enjoyed quilting. Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Anne Jones-Ackeret of Seymour and Dolly Axsom of Leesville; one son, Jeffery E. Howell of New Albany, IN; two granddaughters, Patricia Ann Jones Skeen of Indianapolis and Kimberley Hunter Beatty of Ft. Wayne, IN; one grandson, John E. Jones of Madison, IN; three great grandsons, Daniel Jones, Andrew Jones and Charlie Skeen; two step great granddaughters, Alysa and Victoria Skeen; a special friend, Clara Deaton who was like a daughter; special nephews, Jerry Chandler of North Vernon and Mike Chandler of Bedford; special niece, Carole Anderson of New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Ruth Chandler; one brother, Jim Eisele and two sons-in-law, Delmar Axsom and Charlie Jones. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 13th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Dixon Chapel Cemetery in Lawrence Co. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, April 12th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
