Obituary of Robert D. Stewart
Bedford Robert Stewart, 77, of Bedford, died at 5:04 am on Friday, December 12, 2014 at White River Lodge.
Born January 9, 1937 in Williams, IN, he was the son of Lloyd Leslie Stewart and Virginia Brooking Gasaway. He married Janet C. Muterspaw-Lindley-Owens and she survives. Robert drove a bread truck and retired from Holsum Bakery after 33 years. He was in the National Guard, was a member of the Teamsters Local Union, and was a long-time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include his wife, Janet C.; nine children, Robert D. Stewart II and Rose of Bedford, Christina Wright and Edward of Oolitic, Theresa Ferguson and Perry, of Bloomington, Gordon Stewart of Bedford, James Michael Stewart of Bedford, Michelle Burris and Charlie of Bedford; Julia Merrill and Raphael of Idaho, Curtis Stewart and Angela of Bedford, Misty Sanders and Greg of Trinity Springs; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Prow and Kenny of Bedford; step-children, Theresa Gately and Mark Ford of Iowa, Mark and Teresa Lindley of Orleans, Hope and Mark Lindsey of French Lick, Paula and Mark Butler of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Rebecca Speer; grandson, Justus Cady; great-grandson, Zachary Colvin; step-daughter, Tammy Lindley; sister, Patricia Harrell. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 16th. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 Monday at the Day & Carter Mortuary and 10:00am Tuesday until time of service at the Church.
