Obituary of Hazel Marie Stevens

Bedford Hazel Marie Stevens, 76, a resident of the Hospitality House in Bedford, formerly of Mitchell, IN, died at 5:50 am on Sunday, June 8, 2003 at the Hospitality House. Born August 1, 1926 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Charles and Rosa Eisele. She married William Stevens, Jr. on January 29, 1949 and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of St. Johns Episcopal Church, singing in the choir for several years. She was a twenty-five year member and officer of the Order of the Eastern Star #129.She was also a member and officer of Tarum Shrine in Bedford, IN. Survivors include one son, Ronald Stevens and his wife, Brenda of Mitchell; one daughter, Judy A. Shaff of Mitchell; two grandsons, William L. Shaff and his wife, Michelle and Jeremy D. Shaff and his wife, Julie, all of Mitchell; three great granddaughters, Olivia, Emma and Lauren Shaff. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Helen Eisele. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 11th at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Bedford. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. A Eastern Star Memorial Service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening.
