Obituary of Earl Robert Stedman

Bedford Earl Robert Stedman, 87, of 1702 Valley View Dr., Bedford, died at 6:35 pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford. Born September 15, 1920 in Benton Harbor, MI, he was the son of Clarence and Flora (Wigent) Stedman. He married June Cupp on June 18, 1949 and she survives. He had worked at Midwest Dairy and later for the Messenger Corporation where he retired as a warehouse foreman. He was a graduate of the Watervliet High School with the class of 1940. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WW II in the battle of Midway and was on the Yorktown aircraft carrier when it sank. He was a member of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Surviving with his wife, June, of Bedford are two daughters, Candace and Christine Stedman both of Bedford. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 3rd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn, IN. Friends may call from 3:30 pm on 8:00 pm on Friday, May 2nd and from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Saturday, May 3rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary. View Video Tribute
