Obituary of Kenneth E. Hawkins

Bedford Kenneth E. (Kenny) Hawkins, 59, of Bedford, died Thursday, September 22, 2011 at I.U. Bedford Medical Center. Born April 9, 1952 in Bedford, he was the son of Richard Jack and Mary (Starrett) Hawkins. He married Karen Roberts on October 15, 1978 and she survives. He was a stone cutter at Indiana Limestone Co. and had worked at RCA for twenty-five years. He was a member of the Laborers Local #741 and of the Christian faith. Survivors include his wife, Karen, of Bedford; a daughter, Shannon Jo Rose and husband, Jeffrey of Bedford; a granddaughter, Elissa Rose; a grandson, Logan Hawkins; two brothers, Harold Hawkins and wife, Rosetta of Bedford and Kenneth Robert Hawkins and wife, Jean of Ohio; a sister, Joyce Totten and husband, Charles of North Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, September 26th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Lindy Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 25th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
