I always wanted to thank Mrs. Stansbury for NOT forcing me to use my right hand rather than my left when writing and drawing. And for her patience with me because I loved to talk to my first grade classmates at Needmore! She was a lovely lady and we were blessed to know her.

Mark is Anna's grand nephew. Carroll Armstrong was one of her nephew's. Aunt Anna was Carroll's favorite relatives. We met her when we came to Indiana to celebrate Anna and Ernest's 50th wedding anniversary. She was so impressive and so full of energy. Our deepest sympathy to Ted and Barbara. She was a remarkable woman.

Mrs. Stansbury was my kindergarten teacher in 1971. I will always remember her gently pulling me away from my mother on the first day of school because I didn't want to leave her or go to school. At the end of that first day, Mrs. Stansbury was gently pushing me out the door of the school because I didn't want to go home. She was a very special lady and touched many lives in such a positive way. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.

Dear Ted and Barb,
We are with you in spirit and truly sorry for your loss. I apoligize that we couldn't be there with you. I know Anna will be greatly missed by many - especially as I read the tributes posted from neighbors, friends and former students. Inspiring children to learn is a true gift - which lasts a lifetime, your mother obviously had this gift in abundance.
Every time I was around your mother, I was always impressed with her combination of intelligence, wit and strength - she was a pleasure to know.
Ted, as only children, I feel your grief. I know you and your mother had the special bond which comes from a family of three. Her love for you, was always visible as yours for her. Remember, you have a family here and we all love you very much!
Praying for comfort and peace for you and Barb. All our love, Angie, Tony, Easton and Lily

Ted, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She was so special, along with your dad to me as I was growing up. She was always so fun to be around and we loved going to her house on Halloween every year and riding our bikes & cycles around their drive. It was a pleasure knowing her! My deepest sympathy.

Ted, So sorry to hear of your loss. We met your mother once at the lake, and she was so delightful. We know that it's always difficult to lose a parent - even when we've had to take over the parent role ourselves. May you find God's peace as you remember the wonderful mother you had. Jim and Connie

Miss Ana....As my early grades teacher you taught me to read and to love learning. I am grateful for the wonderful, caring foundation you gave me as a young student. You have blessed me all my life by those gifts. You have shone brightly as one who loves life and education and others. You lived nobly and made us all proud to know you.
Thank you for being my teacher.

I know there must be one heck of a card game going on in Heaven today as you have reunited with mom and dad. My life was so blessed to have you as my surrogate mother and all those trips back and forth to Florida were some of the most wonderful moments in my life. You will be with me forever. I love you--Julie
