Obituary of Betty M. Stancombe

Bedford Betty M. (Chenault) Stancombe, 76, of 3001 Bud Stipp Road, Bedford, died at 2:15 am on Monday, February 5, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born July 9, 1930 in Bedford, to the loving parents Dewey and Pearl (Covey) Chenault. She married Robert D. Stancombe on September 6, 1947 whom she has dearly loved for fifty-nine years and he survives. She was a homemaker for most of her life and a member of the Leesville United Methodist Church. Surviving with her husband, Robert, is one son, Timothy Paul Stancombe and his wife, Susette; one daughter, Rita K. Waggoner and her husband, Herb all of Bedford; one son-in-law, Robert J. Robinson of Bedford; the greatest reward in life, her five grandchildren, Monte D. Terry and his wife, Regina, Michael L. Terry and his wife, Stacey, all of Bedford, Marty S. Terry and his wife, Mary of Avon Park, FL, Brittany Boyer of Bedford and JVonne Stancombe of Page, AZ; two step-grandchildren, Darren Waggoner and his wife, Mindy of Bedford and Deidre Deckard and her husband, Greg of Springville; six great grandchildren, Brenna Nikirk, Layna S. Terry, Braden Terry, Chase Terry and Logan Boyer; eight step great grandchildren, Chris Edie, Tiffany Powell, Brianna Donovan, Jarod, Drew and Haley Deckard, Evan and Annie Waggoner; two sisters, Dorothy Elder of Bargersville, IN, Erma Haws of Bedford and several nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, one daughter, Reva Jane Robinson, great grandson, V.J. Edie, one brother, Dale Chenault and one sister, Melvina Ryan. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, February 9th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Rob Kirts officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 8th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary. View Video Tribute
