Obituary of Harold E. Spreen
Williams Harold E. (Windy) Spreen, 79, of 7941 Williams Road, Williams, IN, died at 11:20 pm on Thursday, August 14, 2003 at Dunn Memorial Hospital.
Born November 18, 1923 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Waldo and Beulah (Hobson) Spreen. He married Rachel Cessna on December 7, 1946 and she survives. He was a farmer in the Williams area and a member of the Williams Church of Christ. He served on the Williams Cemetery Board, was a member of the Williams Volunteer Fire Department and Williams Community Improvement Assoc. He was a graduate of Williams High School in the class of 1940 and a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Army.
Surviving with his wife, Rachel are one daughter, Becky Pinnick and her husband, David of Williams; four sons, Michael Spreen and his wife, Karen; Mark Spreen; William Spreen and his wife, Kristi; Tom Spreen and his wife, Tangie all of Williams; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two brothers, Ben Spreen of New Castle, IN and Perry Spreen of Sarasota,FL; three sisters, Margaret Armstrong and Betty Gore both of Williams and Erma Rimmel of Phoenix, AZ and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Maeda Kern and one granddaughter, Claire Rachel Spreen. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 19th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Paul Guthrie, Jim Reynolds and Steve Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday, August 18th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
