Obituary of Mary Genevieve Splitgerber

Bedford Mary Genevieve (Jean) Splitgerber, 92, of Bedford, passed away at 1:50 am on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford. Born September 29, 1917 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Broda and Marie (McMann) Johnson. She married Herman Splitgerber on June 29, 1940 and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1988. She was a graduate of Bedford High School with the class of 1935. She had worked at the Stone City Apothecary and Crowders Drug Store. She was a life-long member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Alter Society and the Omega Nu Tau sorority. Survivors include one son, Jeffrey Splitgerber and wife, Jane of San Francisco, CA; one sister, Melba Lufkin of Tampa, FL; two nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister, Evalou Skinner. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Thursday, January 7th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Father Rick Eldred officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, January 7th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
