Obituary of Robert Spires

Bedford Robert Runt Spires, 66, a resident of the Hauck House in Bedford, died at 9:05 pm on Monday, September 22, 2003 at the Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford. Born December 30, 1936, he was the son of Ervin and Eva (Livingston) Spires. He retired from the Bedford Parks Department and a veteran. He was a member of the Gillen Post #33 American Legion and the Eagles. Survivors include two daughters, Donna May and her husband, Bill and Cathy Baker and her husband, Mike; four sons, Bobby Spires and his wife, Sherry, Tony Spires, Rick Spires and his wife, Paula, Danny Spires all of Bedford; three sisters, Jewell Goldsberry and her husband, Guy of Mooresville; Mary Ann Graham of Bedford; Junetta Goff and her husband, Ken of Ohio; one brother, Richard (Rick) Spires and his wife, Erin of Bedford and his long-time friend, Marian Strunk of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Joyce Larsen; two brothers, Don and Gaylord Spires; two daughters, Linda Jamison and Debbie Spires. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 26th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Ronnie McLain officiating. Burial will follow in Dive Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 25th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
