Obituary of James Stephen Speer

Bedford James Stephen Speer, 62, of Bedford, died at 6:40 pm on Saturday, April 24, 2004 in Bedford. Born February 13, 1942 in Bedford, he was the son of Everette and Margie (Harrison) Speer. He retired as a bread route driver and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #135. He was a member of American Legion Gillen Post #33, the Eagles Lodge and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include one son, Troy Speer of Orlando, FL; one step-daughter, Ginger Dow of Layton, UT; one step-grandson, Conner Dow; one sister, Joyce Murphy and her husband, Jack of Union, OH; aunt and uncle, Nancy and Wayne Hancock of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, April 28th at Beech Grove Cemetery with Rev. Richard Chase officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until 2:30 pm on Wednesday, April 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
