Obituary of Danny Grant Sowders

Bedford Danny Grant Sowders, 62, of 2337 Brown Station Road, Bedford, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on March 15, 2005 at Bloomington Hospital following a brief illness. Born March 13, 1943 to Lovell and Lillie (Winegar) Sowders. He married Donna Miller on October 13, 1961 and she survives. He was a bricklayer retiring from General Motors and a member of the Fairview Community Church. Danny enjoyed restoring antique cars and farming but had a passion for serving the Lord with his testimony and ministry and attending all of the grandchildrens activities and working with them on projects. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be so greatly missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Donna, children, Don and wife, Rochelle, Bill and wife Amy, Jeannie Barnes and husband, Shannon all of Bedford and Bettie Bedan and husband, Jack of Greenwood; ten grandchildren, Jessica, Eric, Jacob and Molly Sowders, Megan, Josie and Sadie Barnes, John, Hannah and Jordan Bedan; one brother, Lovell Sowders, Jr. and sisters, Shirley Ray, Carol Andis, Kay Kelley and Christie Sowders of Bedford, Betty Deckard of Bloomington, Step-mother, Jane Sowders, Step-brother, Phil Evans and step-sister, Trudy Holtsclaw. Danny was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Annie Rose Sowders. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 18th at Fairview Community Church with Pastor Lindy Hopkins and Pastor Kenneth Fisher officiating. Contact Day & Carter Mortuary for directions to the church. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm on Thursday, March 17th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at Fairview Community Church.
