Obituary of Lloyd D. Sowders
Bedford Lloyd D. Sowders, 84, of Bedford, died at 10:58 pm on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born December 26, 1925 in Lawrence Co., IN, he was the son of Orville and Pearl Ruth (Arthur) Sowders. He married Bonnie Jean Axsom on March 2, 1944 and she survives. He was employed at General Motors retiring in 1985 after forty-two years. He was a farmer and had a coal delivery service. He was a member of the Hilltop Pentecostal Church and U.A.W. Local #440.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of Bedford; three sons, Mark Sowders and wife, Rhonda of Bedford, Edwin Sowders and wife, Janet of Avoca, Curtis Dewey Sowders and companion, Vicky of Judah; one daughter, Deborah Clevenger of Ellettsville; three sisters, Oweedah Sissy Butcher of Judah, Thelma Prince of Bloomington and Sue Judah of Mitchell; one brother, Robert Sowder and wife, Darlyne of Ellettsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Wayne Sowders; a son-in-law, Louis Clevenger and a daughter-in-law, Glenda (Norman) Sowders. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 15th at the Hilltop Pentecostal Church with Rev. Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, April 14th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Thursday, April 15th at the Hilltop Pentecostal Church.
