Obituary of Juanita Murray Smith

Bedford Juanita Murray Smith, 96, of Bedford, died at 3:00 am on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the White River Lodge in Bedford. Born May 28, 1914 in Orangeville, IN, she was the daughter of Noble and Minnie (Tolbert) Felknor. She married Floyd Murray on October 20, 1934 and he preceded her in death in July of 1961. She later married Harold Smith on July 3, 1969 and he died on December 14, 1999. She was a graduate of Bedford High School with the class of 1933. She retired from the Sears Roebuck & Co. after twenty years and was a member of the Englewood Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and former member of the Business and Professional Womens Club. Survivors include a son, Stephen Floyd Murray and wife, Irene of Carmel, IN; a step-son, Donald L. Smith of Bedford; a step-daughter, Faye Barksdale and husband, Jerome of Bedford; four grandchildren, Michael, Todd and Bradley Murray and Susan Carlock; several great grandchildren; several step-great grandchildren and a sister, Jewell Storms of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, three sisters, Daisy Walker, Genevieve Beasley and Zella Hamilton and one brother, Clinton Felknor. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 17th at the Englewood Baptist Church with Pastor Dave Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 16th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
