Obituary of Alma Smith

Bedford Alma Smith, 89, of 2020 Plaza Drive, Cambridge Square Apts., Bedford, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at her residence. Born July 26, 1919 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Elmer and Lelia (Williamson) Smith. She was a seamstress and retired from M. Fine & Sons in Bedford. She was a life-time member of Faith Mission. Survivors include one brother, Norman Smith of Oolitic; one sister, Betty Taflinger of Mitchell; a brother-in-law, Charles Bud Jackson of Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Mary Smith of North Vernon; several nieces, nephews and her caregiver, Linda Meadows of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Agnes Meadows, Viola Jackson and Audrey Myers; two brothers, Leslie and Lewis Smith. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 12th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Leonard Sankey officiating. Burial will follow in Knott Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 11th and from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Friday, September 12th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
