Obituary of Dorothy Maxine Smedley

Bedford Dorothy Maxine Smedley, 81, of Bedford, died at 9:50 am on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Westview Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford. Born February 16, 1926 in Mitchell, IN, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Nina Tolliver. She married Frances C. Smedley in 1945 and he died on May 26, 1976. She was employed at Uniroyal for thirty-four years and was a member of the First Christian Church in Bedford. Dorothy was the best mother in all the world to her daughter, Pattie Bennett of Ft. Worth, TX. Also surviving is one grandson, James F. Bennett of Ft. Worth, TX; a nephew, Ronnie Brock and a niece, Jerri Lynn Stewart both of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, Billie McHugh, Georgeanna Baker and Mary Brock. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 1st from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 2nd in the St. Joe Valley Memorial Park in South Bend, IN. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Friday, June 1st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
