Obituary of Clarence A. Beedie

Heltonville Clarence A. Bud Beedie, 65, of 1732 Pleasant Run Road, Heltonville, died at 6:50 am on Friday, February 1, 2008 at his residence.Born January 12, 1943 in Lawrence County, IN he was the son of James A. Beedie, Sr. and Mary Eileen (Hosea) Jean. He married Theresa Terry Hanners on April 5, 1969 and she survives. He was a farmer and cattleman. He was employed at General Motors for thirty-eight years as a machine repairman. He was a lifelong member of Dive Christian Church and U.A.W. Local #440. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War where he served on the U.S.S. Oriskiny. He received the National Defense Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He graduated from Bedford High School in 1961 and played college basketball at Tusculem College from 1963 1964. He enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing, farming and college basketball. Survivors include his wife, Theresa Terry, his mother, Eileen, of Mitchell, one son, Jamison Alexander Beedie and his wife Heather of Heltonville, one brother, James Arthur Beedie, Jr. and his wife Vicky of Bedford, one sister, Janice Eileen Neely and her husband Roger S. of Oolitic, three grandchildren, Devon Paige Beedie, Kailee Adair Beedie and Trinity Lauren Beedie. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 4, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Dive Christian Church with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 3rd at Day & Carter Mortuary and from 9:00 am until the hour of the service at Dive Christian Church on Monday, February 4, 2008. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Donations Information .
