Obituary of Virginia Sipes

Bedford Virginia (Gee) Sipes, 94, of Bedford, went to be with the Lord at 5:10 am on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the White River Lodge in Bedford. Born March 6, 1916 in Martin Co., she was the daughter of Asa and Maude (Stroud) Gee. She married Marion Sipes in 1940 and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and member of the Hillcrest Christian Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include daughters, Margaret Baker and husband, Phil of Mitchell, Sue Sipes of Bedford, Gail Hewitt and husband, Jim of Bedford, Wanda Payne and husband, Jerry of Bedford, Dayle Middleton and husband, Paul of Omaha, NE; nine grandchildren, Kelly Umphress of Mitchell, Brian Baker of Orleans, Troy Hewitt of Bedford, Christy Borders of Falls Church, VA, Shannon Payne of Bedford, Joshua Payne (Courtney) of Alexandria, VA, Kyle Payne of Richmond, VA, Nathan Middleton and Ian Middleton both of Omaha, NE; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Larry, brothers and sisters, Vernon, Robert, Paul, Lloyd and William Gee, Nina Hislip and Mae Winninger. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 15th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Tim Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Trinity Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, July 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
