Obituary of James R. Sipes
HeltonvilleAt his home on Monday, March 29th at 5:15 P.M. Jim went to be with Jesus with his loving family by his side.
Born on February 15, 1943 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Chester H. and Maggie Inez (Honeycutt) Sipes. He married Lenora H. Hearth on October 4, 1963 and she survives.
He retired after several years with the U.S. Forest Service due to a disability and was a member of the Truth Apostolic Tabernacle.
Surviving are his wife: Lenora of Heltonville; two daughters: Christy Axsom of Heltonville and Amy Sollman of Heltonville and her fiance, James Cowden; one son: Andy Sipes and his wife, Kelly of Heltonville; six grandchildren: James (Doo) Axsom and his fiancee, Tiffany Borden, Josh Sollman, Nikki Sollman, Jamie Sipes, Jesse Sipes and Kagan Axsom all of Heltonville; one great granddaughter: Kadacey Axsom of Bedford; two brothers: Robert (Bobby) Sipes and his wife, Linda of Chesapeake, VA and Raymond Sipes and his wife, Patsy of Heltonville; three sisters: Ruby Lovell and her husband, Jimmie of Bedford, Joann Taylor and her husband, Jake of Brownstown and Norma Turner and her husband, Mike of Heltonville; three aunts and one uncle, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 1st, at the Truth Apostolic Tabernacle with Bro. James Barker and Bro. Neal McCory officiating. Burial will follow in Gilgal Cemetery in Heltonville.
Friends may call from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 31st, at the Day & Carter Mortuary and 11:00 am until service time on Thursday at the Truth Apostolic Tabernacle. Donations Information
