Obituary of James Eldridge Simmerman

Mitchell James Eldridge Simmerman, 88, of 1317 Rabbitsville Road, Mitchell, formerly of 501 Southwood Dr., Bedford, died at 5:00 am on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at the Hospitality House in Bedford. Born September 18, 1918 in Martin Co., he was the son of John Everett and Carrie Mae (Inman) Simmerman. He married Eva Maxine Rainey and she preceded him in death in January 1999. He was a retired ordinance worker at NWSC CRANE and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include one son, Roe Gene Simmerman and his wife, Vicky of Mitchell; two grandchildren, Carrie Simmerman and Derek Simmerman both of Mitchell; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three sisters, Viola Owens, Dovie Barnett and Mary Parsley; one brother, Paul Joseph Simmerman. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 11th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Mike Davis officiating.
