Obituary of William Silvers

Oolitic William Shorty Silvers, 70, formerly of 812 Smith Ave., Oolitic, died at 5:13 pm on Thursday, February 5, 2004 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born January 4, 1934 in Oolitic, he was the son of Willie A. and Polly (Lovell) Silvers. He was retired from the limestone industry and Bedford North Lawrence School System. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Oolitic and a veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include two brothers, Tracy Silvers of Oolitic and Bobby Gene Lovell of Bedford; two sisters, Mildred Roberts and Etta Jean May both of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jim and Carl and one sister, Desda Wray Blackburn. Funeral Information Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, February 9th at the Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca with Pastor Dan Voorhies officiating. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. No calling hours are scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
