Obituary of Rachael H. Shaver
Rachael H. (Houston) Shaver, 97, a resident of Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford, IN passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011 following a lengthy illness.
Born February 9, 1914 in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Volney L. and Sallie J. (Overton) Houston. She married James E. Shaver on Oct. 14, 1933, and he preceded her in death on June 1, 1969.
Rachael was a Secretary at W. F. Myers Co. in Bedford for 40 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Gillen Post #33, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Bedford Lady Elks.
She is survived by one son, Larry Shaver and wife, Carolyn of Bedford, IN; two grandchildren, Diane (Boyd) Utz and husband, Randy of Seattle, WA, and Steve Adams and wife, Misty of Bedford, IN; 4 great-grandchildren, Riley Grauer and Logan Utz of Seattle, WA, and Alex and Avery Adams of Bedford, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, one son, James H. Shaver of Orlando, FL in 1996; two sisters, her twin, Ruth Elizabeth in 1918, and Kathryn Evelyn Hoffman of Three Rivers, MI in 1998. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 7th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary, with Rev. Bob Dailey officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, April 7th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information
