Obituary of Edna M. Sears

Oolitic Edna M. Sears, 74, of 201 6th Street, Oolitic, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at her residence.Born August 13, 1933 in Red Springs, NC, she was the daughter of M. G. Buck and Charlotte (Hall) Houtchings. She married Clayton Eugene Sears on August 22, 1953 and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1993. She retired from NWSC Crane in 1993 and was currently employed at Caseys General Store in Oolitic. She was of the Protestant faith.Survivors include one son, Hollis Sears of Bedford; one daughter, Marla Brown of Paoli, ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Jean New of Vine Grove, KY and Linda Grey of Paoli; two brothers, Robert and James Houtchings both of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Carol Ann and Ida Mae Sears; one son, Harold Sears and one sister, Ruth Kidd. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, May 2nd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Alan Phillips officiating.
