Obituary of James Aliano
Bloomfield James Aliano, 71, of R 3 Box 414 AA, Bloomfield, IN, died at 3:33 pm on Monday, April 14, 2003 at Bloomington Hospital after a one year illness.
Born January 22, 1932 in Mitchell, IN, he was the son of James Aliano, Sr. and Mary Ann (Kirk) Aliano. He married Mary Alice Elliott on April 6, 1953 and she survives. He was retired as a supervisor working at several local limestone quarries. He was a member of the Bethel Christian Community Church in Springville where he taught Sunday School and was an elder. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict and a member of the National Guard.
Surviving with his wife, Mary, are four sons, James D. Aliano of Springville; Kevin D. Aliano of Evansville; Gregory S. Aliano of Springville and Vincent K. Aliano of Bloomington; one daughter, Jamie S. Hill of Nashville, TN; six grandchildren; one brother, Robert Aliano of Bedford; one sister, Shirley Waggoner of Bedford and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 17th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. David Hill officiating. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 16th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
