Obituary of Willard Sanderson

Mitchell Willard Ed Sanderson, 69, of 633 S. 6th Street, Mitchell, IN, died at 4:00 pm on Monday, February 11, 2008 at his residence. Born July 8, 1938 in Beulaville, NC, he was the son of Levi and Nara (Cottle) Sanderson. He married Violet Wilcoxon on June 7, 2002 and she survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a former member of the Cecil Martin Post #250 of American Legion in Mitchell. Surviving are his wife, Violet of Mitchell; one son, Steven Sanderson of Bedford; two daughters, Janet Douglas of Riverview, FL and Cyndi Hewitt of Bedford; one step-daughter, Meloni Cassidy of Orleans; grandchildren, Cassandra Douglas of Riverview, FL, Gavin Sanderson of Kentucky; Brannigan, Landon and Schylar Hewitt and Kolton Friend all of Bedford; two step-grandchildren, Adrian and Taylor Cassidy both of Orleans; one brother, Kenneth Sanderson of Beulaville, NC; two sisters, Peggy Jon Turner and Elma Gray Walton both of Beulaville, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Norwood Sanderson, Sr. and Homer Sanderson and two sons (in infancy). Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 15th at the Mitchell Cemetery in Mitchell, IN with Merle and Nellie Mullins officiating. Burial will follow. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of the Cecil Martin Post #250 American Legion. Friends may call from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm on Friday, February 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
