Obituary of Lillie May Beasley
Bedford Lillie May Beasley, 74, of Bedford passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014.
Born on May 27, 1940 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Frank and Myrtle (Sauerweine) Watz. She was a graduate of George Washington High School and Purdue University. She taught at West Newton Elementary School, before she married Robert Beasley on April 17, 1971. They lived in Monrovia before making Owen County their home for 20 years, where she was active with the Clay Township Extension Homemakers, moving to Bedford in 1998.
Lillie was very active with Tulip Trace Council of Girl Scouts from 1987 until she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000, serving as a Trainer for Trainers, attending several National Conventions, and leading girls on trips to Our Cabana in Mexico in 1993 and 1997. She was also a Master Gardener, an avid reader, and a fantastic cook.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Michael and Ray Beasley; daughter, Melissa (Dennis) Ehase; five grandchildren, Ethan, Rachel and Isabella Duhn, and Ashley and Austin Ehase. Funeral Information
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Monday September 8, 2014 at Day & Carter Mortuary. Pastor Kevin Smith will be officiating.
