Obituary of Leslie Monroe Ryan

Leslie Monroe "Roe" Ryan Leslie Monroe Roe Ryan, 86, of 1128 Jody Court, Greenwood, IN and formerly of Bedford, passed away on Friday, December 7th at the St. Frances Hospital in Greenwood. Born January 2, 1921 in Tateville, KY, he was the son of Jerry Ryan and Frances (Stigall) Ryan. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis. He married Zena Simpson on February 8, 1979 and she survives. Surviving with his wife of Greenwood is one daughter: Glenda York of Greenwood, IN; two sons: Tim Goodin of Greenwood, IN and Jim Vaughn of Southport, IN; five grandchildren: Dusty, Chasity, Karla, Kharisma and Ryan; six great-grandchildren: Tanner, Deztiny, Chance, Jessica, Tyler and Emily; one sister: Mae Neal of Bedford, IN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife: Eula; three brothers: Russell, Wesley and Joe and three sisters: Florence Godsey, Geneva Patton and Frona Ray. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 13th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery with military rites accorded at the grave by members of the American Legion Gillen Post #33.
