Obituary of Emerson Row

Bedford Emerson Row, 92, Bedford, died at 10:18 pm on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born July 12, 1918 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Odos and Grace (Akin) Row. He married Alberta Flinn on August 17, 1940 and she survives. He was retired from Clark & Rile Buick Agency in Bedford in 1962 then built homes until his retirement in 1980. He was a handyman for several years and was a charter member of the Southland Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and elder. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WW II serving with the Pacific Fleet. Survivors include his wife, Alberta Mae, of Bedford; three sons, Robert Eugene Row of Bedford, Richard Donald Row of Newville, PA, Timothy Allen Row of Huntsville, AL; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, Eunice Hawkins, William Row, Dorothy Aardapple. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 9th at the Southland Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens where military rites will be accorded at the graveside. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, January 8th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 1:00 pm until the hour of service on Sunday, January 9th at the Southland Church of Christ.
