Obituary of Jerry Rollins

Bedford Jerry Rollins, 72, of Bedford, died at 11:10 am on Friday, July 27, 2012, at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital. Born December 4, 1939 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Homer and Coletia (Turner) Rollins. He married Pam Franklin on June 30, 1958 and she survives. Jerry was a 1958 graduate of Needmore High School and was a member of Avoca Baptist Church. He was a heavy equipment operator at Stone City construction and the City of Bedford. Survivors include his wife, Pam, of Bedford; one daughter, Gaytha (Brett) Arnold of Muncie; three grandchildren, Brody, Libby and Alex Arnold all of Muncie; two great-grandchildren, Dallas and Blakeleigh; one brother, Denny (Jayne) Rollins of Bloomington; two sisters, Bonnie Poindexter of Odon, Penny (Darrell) Kindred of Connersville; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Becky Francis of Davie, FL; a sister-in-law, Nancy Carpenter of Bedford and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Bud Rollins. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, July 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Jim McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 29th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 9:00 am until service time on Monday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.
