Obituary of John W. Roell

Bedford John W. Roell, 84, of Bedford, died at 8:15 am on Friday, December 25, 2009 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born March 4, 1925 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Arthur and Lucille (Harris) Roell. He married Christina Robinson on May 19, 1951 and she survives. He retired as the Advertising Director for the Tampa Tribune and Times in 1987 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WW II. He was the president of International Newspaper Advertising & Marketing Executives (INAME). Survivors include his wife, Christina, of Bedford; two sons, John L. Roell of Bedford and David A. Roell and wife, Jolene of SC; a granddaughter, Dana Marie Roell of SC. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Don and Bill Roell. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Reed Beard officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Friends may call from 1:00 pm until the hour of service on Wednesday, December 30th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
