Obituary of Peggy Jean Rocco
Bedford Peggy Jean Rocco, 75, lost her courageous battle with cancer at 8:29 pm on Monday, December 2, 2013. She passed from this life at her home, with loving family at her side.
Peggy was born on the 23rd of October, 1938 to William and Mattie Bush of Oolitic. She was the youngest child of the family, precocious and fiercely independent. Peggy left Indiana as a young adult, living briefly in Louisville and then for several years in Houston. At the age of 30 she returned to Indiana where she lived her remaining years.
Peggy worked as a respiratory therapist in the local area for many years. She was retired from Bloomington Hospital, but continued to work in her field until only a few months ago. She most recently worked at Garden Villa in Bedford.
Peggy had a strong calling to help those less fortunate than herself. She loved music, traveling and new experiences of almost any kind. Most of all she loved her family and friends, by whom she will be sorely missed.
Peggy is survived by her brother, William Bush, Jr.; sisters, Matricia Butler and Mary Ellen (Junior) Sowders; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Patty Rocco; granddaughter, Jessy Rocco; great grandsons, Faolan Cook and Soren Gibson; fourteen nieces and nephews; a large extended family and her faithful corgi, Toby.
Peggy was preceded in death by her mother and father; step-mother, Estus Bush; brother, Robert Bush; sisters, Rosemary Jones and Deloris Riley; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Bush and Peg Bush; brothers-in-law, Max Butler, Robin Riley and Warren Jones. Funeral Information
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 7th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Saturday, December 7th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information
