Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Roberts Colburn

Bedford Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Roberts Colburn, 82, of Clover Lane Apts., Bedford, died at 12:01 pm on Monday, November 3, 2003 at Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born September 27, 1921 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Frank and Wilma (Sharpe) Roberts. She married George Carr Colburn and he preceded her in death in October 1977. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Faith Mission Church in Bedford. Survivors include one daughter, Joanne Adams of Bedford; three sons, John H. Colburn of Lynnwood, WA, James Colburn of Bedford and Benjamin C. Colburn of Bloomington; nine grandchildren, Kimberly and Carol Adams of Bedford; William (Bill) Colburn and his wife, Kimberly of Shoreline, WA; John Colburn of Lynnwood, WA; James E. Colburn of Portland, OR; Jonathan Colburn and his wife, Hope, of Bedford; Jason Colburn and his wife, Gina of Greenwood, MO; Benjamin E. Colburn of Overland Park, KS and Joshua Colburn of Bloomington; four great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jordan, Colton and Kailyn Colburn all of Greenwood, MO; two sisters, Ruth (Hackett) Moore and Virginia Massey both of Bedford and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Harry (Red) Roberts and James Roberts; one sister, Viola Bunch and an infant son, Thomas George (who was a twin of John H.). Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 6th at the Faith Mission Church in Bedford with Rev. Leonard Sankey and Rev. Steve Stetler officiating. Burial will follow in Leesville Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, November 5th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, November 6th at the Faith Mission Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Faith Mission Building Fund.
