Obituary of Donald Eugene Baumgart

Bedford Donald Eugene Baumgart, 66, of 236 Sycamore Dr., Bedford, died at 10:30 pm on Monday, March 28, 2005 at Bloomington Hospital following a five year battle with lung cancer. Born March 18, 1939 in Mt. Carmel, IL, he was the son of Carl and Mildred (Guillaume) Baumgart. He married Shiela D. Nicholson on October 7, 1967 and she survives. He was a manufacturing engineer at General Motors and a member of the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Bedford and the Knights of Columbus. Surviving with his wife, Shiela of Bedford; is his father, Carl of Haubstadt, IN; one daughter, Audrey Smith of Bedford; three sons, Jon, Jason and Justin Baumgart all of Bedford; four grandchildren, Summer, Austin, Emma and Katie; three brothers, Maurice Boots and John Mac Baumgart both of Haubstadt, IN and Gary Baumgart of Evansville; one sister, Mary Hirsch of Haubstadt, IN and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred; two brothers, Charles and Norman Baumgart and one niece, Barbara Baumgart. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 31st at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Dan Donohoo officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Run Cemetery. Private calling hour are scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
