Obituary of Oren Roach

Avoca Oren F. Roach, 86, of 7451 State Road 54 West, Springville, IN, (Avoca), died at 7:14 pm on Monday, February 18, 2008 at the Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born May 15, 1921 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Earl R. and Essie G. (Harper) Roach. He married Betty Chastain on July 8, 1950 and she survives. He was employed at the Farm Bureau Lumber Yard in Bedford. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II as a military police officer. He enjoyed gardening. Survivors include his wife, Betty of Avoca; two sons, David Roach of Avoca and Donald Roach of Avoca; two sisters, Dorothy Tincher of Needmore and Goldie Gilbert of Martinsville. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Owen Roach. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 22nd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Paul Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in Springville Christian Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday, February 22nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
