Obituary of Dorothy Risen

Bedford Dorothy Risen, 80, a resident of Westview Nursing facility, formerly of 1921 12th Street, Bedford, died at 5:30 am on Sunday, August 20, 2006 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born September 10, 1925 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Opal and Mary (White) Sipes. She married William Red Risen on January 4, 1946 and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bedford. Surviving are four sons, Tom Risen and his wife, Marjie of Bloomington, IN, Steve Risen and his wife, Terri of Salem, IN, Mark Risen and his wife, Dawn of Indianapolis, IN and Jeff Risen and his wife Stephanie of Greer, SC; three daughters, Susan Risen and Jeanne Ann Wagner and her husband, Jesse all of Bedford and Julie Gilbert of Oolitic, IN; grandchildren, Angie Risen-White, Jeremy Risen, Tim Risen, Stephanie Bryant, Hova Robertson-Woods, Nathan Risen, Sarah Risen-Robertson, Logan Wagner, Cameron Risen, Lincoln Wagner, Bailey Gilbert, Clay Risen, Caden Risen, Bryce Gilbert, Jason LaFary, Eric LaFary, Shannon Becker, Constance LaFary, Tyler Brickey, Ben Brickey and Hannah Brickey; great grandchildren, Evan Bryant, Andrew Risen, Nolan Risen, Keira White, Noah Risen, Cristain LaFary, Jacob LaFary, Liam Becker, Addison Becker and Holden LaFary; one sister, Ruth Slate of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son, Timothy (in infancy) and one sister, Donna Taylor. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 24th at the First Baptist Church in Bedford with Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 23rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, August 24th at the First Baptist Church.
