Obituary of Robert E. Rippy

Bedford Robert E. Bob Rippy, 73, of Shawnee Woods Drive, passed away at 8:00 A.M. Thursday, August 26th at his residence. Born on April 3, 1937 in Washington County, IN, he was the son of John F. Rippy and Leona (Sanders) Rippy. He retired from Prudential Insurance in 1997 after serving with them for thirty-four years. Bob then joined the Hoosier Hills Credit Union in Bedford in 1997 as an investment advisor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford, a charter member of the Bedford Exchange Club and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Bob married Mary Helen Hamilton on August 17, 1960 and she survives. Surviving with his wife, Mary Helen of Bedford are two daughters: Robin Elliott and her husband, Brian of Bedford and Lu Ann Nicholson and her husband, Mike of Bedford; three grandchildren: Mason and Derrick Elliott and Ashton Nicholson; one sister: Reita Babcock of Hardinsburg, IN; one sister-in-law: Judy Rippy of Salem, IN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Kathy Lynn Rippy and one brother: Ronald Rippy. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Burial will follow in the Martinsburg Cemetery in Washington Co. with graveside rites at 1:00 P.M. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 29th from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Day & Carter Mortuary.
