Bedford – Carolyn S. Johnson, 85, of Bedford, passed away at 5:30 am on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at I.U. Health Hospice House.

Born August 31, 1939, in Oolitic, she was the daughter of James W. and Bessie (Payton) Hatfield. She married Perry W. Johnson on May 5, 1955, and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2004. She was a homemaker and volunteer for the American Red Cross.

Survivors include two sons, Dale E. Johnson and wife, Diane, of CO and Perry (Joe) Johnson and wife, Judy, of Leesville; a daughter-in-law, Diane Johnson, of Mitchell; grandsons, Alexander Johnson, of Williams and Daniel Johnson, of Mitchell; granddaughters, Erin M., Victoria K., both of CO and Holly L. Johnson, of ID; a sister, Lahoma Owen, of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Daniel W. Johnson, a brother, James Hatfield and a sister, Janet Dodds.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Chris Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Dive Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 29th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Wednesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
