Obituary of Arthur D. Hill

Arthur D. Hill, 68 March 28, 1942 April 7, 2010 After a 2 year battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, Art went home to be with the Lord at 7:42 pm on Wednesday. Art was born on March 28th, 1942 in Mitchell, Indiana, the fourth son of Jennings Shine and Hazel (Trueblood) Hill. He graduated from Mitchell High School with the class of 1960. He served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. He was employed at Citizens National Bank, Indiana National Bank in Indianapolis and was Manager of the Bloomfield State Bank Eastern Heights Branch. He was later employed as a Manager at Ralph Rogers Group for 25 years and retired in 2000. He loved his retirement job as a driver for Enterprise Rent-A-Car, a position he held for 9 years until his illness prevented him from working. He married Vicky (Chaney) Thompson on September 14th, 2002. He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend, Vicky; two sons Anthony Tony Hill, Jackson, TN and Jason Hill (wife, Christi), Carmel, IN; two step-daughters Sarah Reynolds (husband, Travis), Bedford and Leslie Schmitt (husband, Rich), Bedford. Art leaves behind nine beautiful grandchildren who will treasure their time with their Grandpa/Papaw: Austin Hill and Olivia Hill of Yorktown; Eliana Hill and Josiah Hill of Carmel; Noah High, Isabelle High, Hayden Reynolds and Owen Schmitt of Bedford and Tylor Schmitt of Franklin. He is also survived by two brothers, Glen of Terre Haute and David (wife, Phyllis) of Bedford, one sister-in-law Colleen Hill of Elmhurst, IL and beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Hill. Funeral Information Viewing will be at the Day & Carter Mortuary on Saturday, April 10th, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm with Pastor Henry Mann of Faith Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Bedford.
