Obituary of Shirley Mitchell

Mitchell Shirley Mitchell, 52, of 179 Smiths Road, Mitchell, IN, died at 10:30 am on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the Bloomington Hospital. Born July 10, 1956 in Danville, IL, she was the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Herbert) Ferris. She married Rick J. Mitchell in 1994 and he survives. She had been employed at the Veterans Administration, Work One and was Unit Coordinator at Bloomington Hospital of Orange County. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Bedford Boat & Sportsmans Club and the LaOrMa Shrine Club. Survivors include her husband, Rick, of Mitchell; her father, Robert, of Danville, IL two sons, Jason Kester of Louisville, KY and James Kester of Janesville, WI; a daughter, Jennifer Kester of Bedford; two grandchildren, Braxton Jacob Clark and Riley Jamison Clark; one brother, Robert Ferris of Illinois; two sisters, Sue Conner of Danville, IL and Lisa Keller and husband, Bill, of Oakwood, IL. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, May 8th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. A committal service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 8th at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 7th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
