Obituary of Lida Grace Miller

Bedford Lida Grace Miller, 103, of Bedford, died at 4:12 am on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Garden Villa. Born August 14, 1906 in Murdo, SD, she was the daughter of D. J. and Iva (Doering) Brenneman. She married Daniel Long Miller on June 10, 1934 and he preceded her in death on January 16, 2002. She was a homemaker and retired teacher. She graduated from Crowley, CO High School in 1924. She obtained her A.B. degree from Greenville College in Greenville, IL and performed thirty hours of postgraduate work at Fort Hayes State College. She was a member of Greensburg United Methodist Church, the First Church of the Nazarene in Hutchinson, KS and the Free Methodist Church in Bedford. She was a church pianist for thirty-five years, an officer of the State and Local W.C.T.U. the Agenda Study Club and service clubs. Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Rae Beard of Bedford; two sons, Samuel D. Miller of Speedway, IN and Robert E. Miller of Coppell, TX; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Dan L. Miller; one brother, William D. Brenneman and one sister, Bonnie Hensleigh. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 12th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Reed E. Beard, Rev. Herbert W. Coates, Rev. Greg R. Coates and Rev. John R. Lane officiating. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Hutchinson, Kansas. Visitation is from 3:00 pm until the hour of service on Saturday, June 12th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
