Obituary of James Dale Baldwin

James Dale Baldwin, 83, of Bedford, passed away at 8:35 pm, on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Westview Nursing Home. Born April 5, 1940, in Heltonville, he was the son of James Bryant and Hester (Murphy) Baldwin. He married Connie Baldwin, and she precedes him in death. He was a property manager at Leahy Farm. James was a member of the Bedford Boat and Sportsman Club, and the New Union Christian Church. He was a US Army veteran. He loved dirt track racing, especially watching his great nephew, Brady Short. Survivors include his six children, James T. Baldwin and wife Taresa of Bedford, Shirley Terrell of Mitchell, Marta Lake of Mitchell, Edward M. Baldwin of Mitchell, Toby Baldwin of Mitchell, and Audra Baldwin of Bedford; twenty-one grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; a brother, Michael Baldwin of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Edward and Richard Baldwin, and a son-in-law, Mark Terrell. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, November 15th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary, with Pastor Michael French officiating. Burial will follow in GilGal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Wednesday, November 15th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be conducted by member of the American Legion Gillen Post #33.
